Fierce Femmes: Kaysha Rajani - Curated Giftables

When RPM PR asked Kaysha Rajani, owner and founder of Curated Giftables, to be this month’s Fierce Femme, we loved her response: “Honestly, I am flattered to be thought of as a Fierce Femme! To me, that means being a go-getter, a daring, confident woman who pushes boundaries, and someone who leads by example.

We couldn’t agree more!

Kaysha founded her gifting business during a time when the world was shifting–during the pandemic. The start of the COVID era had her reprioritizing, and looking for a fresh start. We sat down with Kaysha to uncover more about her secret to success and making her vision into a reality.

Q: What does a day in the life of Kaysha look like?

A: The day always starts with coffee and then includes any combination of the following: gift consultation calls with potential clients, working on gift proposals, researching and curating products, designing notecards and gift tags, product photography and videography, creating social media content, business development, bookkeeping, managing inventory, ordering products and packaging and of course, gift assembly and delivery! No two days are the same, which is why I love what I do!

Q: What’s your background before starting Curated Giftables?

A: Prior to launching Curated Giftables, my background was in marketing and communications–handling everything from project management to social media, email marketing, public relations, website development, branding and event planning and management.

Q: Tell us how Curated Giftables was established, and why.

A: I’ve always dreamt of being an entrepreneur but wasn’t sure where to start. Gifting is something I’ve enjoyed doing for my friends and family, and the thought of opening a gift shop had been in the back of my mind, but it seemed like a scary commitment with a lot of overhead expense, and I wasn’t sure what unique offering I could provide that isn’t already out there, especially with the endless online shopping options.

But, like many others during the COVID shutdown, I started to think about my career and what to do with my life. During this time, sending gifts quickly became a popular way for people to connect with others when they couldn’t meet in person. The options for corporate gifting at the time seemed to be either branded swag or baskets of nuts and dried fruit–but I wanted to offer gifts that were personal, customized and special. I thought businesses might appreciate having alternative options, as would those receiving a gift.

Q: What are your company’s specialties?

A: In a nutshell, it’s custom large-scale gifting. But in more detail, our specialty is curating practical and stylish gifts for businesses and events. Curated Giftables offers thoughtful and intentional gifts that are coordinated by theme, color or product and manages the entire gifting process from design to delivery. Our clients can take advantage of building relationships with others through the power of gifting, but outsource the headache of doing it themselves so it’s a stress-free experience.

Q: What’s been one of the most fun projects you’ve worked on so far and why?

A: I’m currently working on a gift for pistachio growers and it’s all pistachio themed! I worked with a popcorn supplier to create a custom batch of gourmet caramel pistachio popcorn drizzled with white chocolate and even hunted down pistachio-scented candles! I’m excited to see this one come together, especially since all the products in this project are sourced from small businesses. Gifting is a collaboration of work and it’s rewarding to see a gift go from a vision to reality!

Q: What’s the future of Curated Giftables look like?

A: If I’m dreaming big, I’d love to have a gorgeous warehouse or office space one day, so I can take on larger-scale projects, offer shipping and distribution, and have a team to assist with curating items and gift assembly. Until now, this dream has only lived in my head, but now I feel like it’s officially documented so I’ll be held to making it happen!

Q: What do you want to be known for?

A: Bringing joy. I want to deliver beautiful, practical and trendy gifts to people for them to use and to enjoy.

Q: What do you do for fun?

A: At the top of the list is traveling with my husband–to whom I’ve been married to for 11 years! I love to explore new foods and cultures and I’m always up for a culinary or wine tasting experience! Anything where I get to be creative is fun to me, from arranging flowers to home décor!
