FROM THE DESK OF: VERONIQUE WERZ, RPM PR’S ACCOUNT MANAGER

There’s a certain magic that happens when passion meets profession (and an amazing team of gals!). Here’s a glimpse into my professional journey and what led me to grow into this incredible opportunity with RPM PR.

I graduated from Fresno State with a degree in Mass Communication and Journalism with a double emphasis in Public Relations and Advertising. One internship after the next I developed an indescribable passion to work with individuals and businesses of various sizes to help them reach new heights. From all aspects of digital and traditional marketing and PR to establishing countless relationships with business owners, public officials and local media stations, I quickly realized that I was fueled by this type of work. I was lucky to have had a phenomenal group of mentors and professors who truly saw this passion in me. Little did I know that through word-of-mouth (which really does travel like wildfire) I landed a job in the marketing department of a local real estate developer just months before graduating.

Eager, anxious, and not sure what to expect, I dove in headfirst and took on every project that was thrown my way. Working for this company allowed me to continuously add skills, experience, and true industry knowledge to my tool belt year after year. I became incredibly loyal and spent countless hours working my way up the corporate ladder and was ultimately promoted into the role of Marketing Manager to lead their marketing department.

Working for this company for nearly 10 years was quite the ride and I was able to reach truly incredible milestone goals that I sometimes thought were never possible. However, I got to a point in my career where I felt that it was time to find a new environment where I could continue to grow and be challenged in other ways. Leaving a good job after a decade is a significant decision, and it’s natural to feel uncertain about the path ahead. Plus, having become a first-time mother of my now almost 3-year-old daughter, I quickly realized that I needed to work toward an atmosphere that values work-life balance. It really is true when people say that time only moves faster when you have kiddos.

Fast forward about a month after I left this job, I joined the RPM PR Dream Team and quickly saw that accepting this offer was one of the best decisions I had ever made (it’s as if fate connected us!). Not only am I able to continue growing professionally by doing the work I love for amazing clients, but I am present for my daughter and am able to watch her grow every step of the way. A female-run business led by mothers can bring a unique and powerful combination of skills, perspectives, and strengths to the table. I couldn’t have asked to be surrounded by a more supportive and hard-working group of women who make you feel motivated, engaged and enthusiastic to roll up your sleeves and hit the ground running each and every day!

Whenever you get to a point in your life where you might be faced with change, remember to embrace this next chapter with optimism and determination, knowing that every step forward is an opportunity for discovery and fulfillment. The power of human connection and the transformative impact it can have on both our personal and professional lives is something very special. Here’s to all the passionate souls out there who dare to dream big, work hard, and never lose sight of the most important thing of all: the people who make it all worthwhile. Growth is a lifelong journey and I embrace every opportunity with open arms!
